It is necessary to meet with the fire department before you sign a lease to have a clear picture of what you are required to do to the space to meet the fire requirements.  Some spaces depending on the use may require fire sprinklers or just annual fire inspections.  To determine what the necessary steps/requirements are for the  the fire department please contact them directly and they will guide you through the process.
